Your privacy, in plain language.

Boov is a private travel map developed by Oleksandr Kazakov, publishing as AgemoWare. This policy covers the Boov app and boov.app. The app is in development; public downloads are not yet available.

What we process

Account information: Firebase Authentication identifies your account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the identifier and account information the provider shares, which may include your name, email address or Apple private relay email, and profile image.
Your travel profile: your display name, countries and regions you mark as visited or want to visit, and related profile settings. Country and region marks are independent; marking a country does not automatically mark its regions.
Connections and invitations: friend relationships, invitation codes or tokens, their creator and creation/expiry information, and acceptance or removal records needed to operate private sharing.
Optional notifications: if you enable them, Firebase Cloud Messaging uses a device registration token and installation information to deliver updates.
Technical information: our hosting, authentication and cloud providers process information such as IP addresses, request details and device/browser information to deliver the service and protect against abuse. Firebase App Check also processes app/device attestation material and tokens to verify requests.
Support requests: information you choose to send by email. Avoid sending passwords, sign-in codes or invitation links.

How we use it

We use these data to provide accounts and cloud storage, display your map, maintain friend connections, deliver notifications you choose, respond to support and protect the service. We process information needed to provide the service you request; security and abuse prevention support our legitimate interests. Where consent is required for optional processing, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Who can see your information

Your connected friends can access the profile, country marks and region marks shared through your connection. An invitation does not make your map a public directory. Only share invitations with intended recipients: anyone who holds a valid invitation may be able to use it. Removing a connection limits future access; it cannot recall screenshots or copies another person has already made.

Google Firebase processes account, database, hosting and optional messaging data on our behalf. Apple and Google process sign-in information under their own terms. Data may be processed outside your country, subject to the applicable provider safeguards. See Firebase privacy and security, Google’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s privacy information.

Location, ads and analytics

Country and region marks are entered manually. Boov does not continuously track your location or import Google Maps history. The current version of this website has no advertising, analytics tags, tracking pixels or third-party fonts. The planned first app version does not include ads or product analytics. Firebase infrastructure still processes technical data described above; absence of analytics does not mean no data is processed.

Invitation links on this website

The invitation page reads the code or token in your link on your device and passes it to Boov only when you choose to open the app. It uses local website assets, sets a no-referrer policy and removes the invitation value from the address bar after reading it. Your initial request still reaches our hosting provider, so treat invitation links as private.

Retention and deletion

We retain your account and associated travel information while needed to provide your account, unless you request deletion. You can change or clear country and region selections and remove friend connections in the app. Clearing a mark changes your map; synchronization metadata may remain until account deletion. Use the app’s account deletion option or follow our account deletion instructions to request deletion of your account and associated stored profile, country marks, region marks, connections, invitations and notification registrations. We may require recent sign-in or identity verification to prevent unauthorized deletion.

Deletion from active systems and provider backups may take different amounts of time. Limited security, legal or support records may remain where necessary. A minimal temporary account-deletion marker is retained to prevent access using previously issued sign-in credentials. Firebase describes its own service-specific retention and backup deletion periods in its privacy documentation. Deletion cannot remove copies already saved by other people.

Your choices and rights

You can change your lists, remove friend connections and disable notifications in the app or your phone settings. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

Boov is not directed at children under 13 or the higher minimum age required where they live. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
